These new ideas

Since the year 2000 there has been a notable change towards the improvement in the prognosis of RA for those patients who receive therapies during the window of opportunity. These new ideas raise the need for these patients to be seen by rheumatologists as soon as possible and not with an average evolution of the disease o years, which was what we found in our study of 1995.

The recommendation then for doctors and health personnel working in primary care, for those who by their specialty receive consultations for joint symptoms and for those who preferentially serve women is: Identify casual patients with RA or with suspected RA. That is, they present any of the following manifestations that support the probable diagnosis of early RA Flekosteel, and which are known as Emery's early AR reference criteria.
